I didn't expect to feel this when this one left the studio. But sometimes there's a different kind of connection to a painting, and for me, this was the one.

With this piece, something shifted. It felt like I had finally found my own visual language, my unspoken words, my soul translated into structure and paint.

I'm really happy it now lives in one of my closest friend's homes, so I still get to visit it from time to time. And maybe that's part of the process too: letting something go creates space. For new paintings. New ideas. New moments.

Because in the end, art is about capturing a moment and giving it a physical form, so it can continue to live on in a completely new space.

70 × 100 cm (27.6 × 39.4 in). Mixed media on canvas: acrylic, structure paste, Austrian limestone, and high-pigmented liquid gold, layered over weeks. Austrian artist-grade, vegan, archival materials. Signed and varnished. Comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity; the canvas is also signed and labelled on the back. Sold in 2025.
