This one was a commission for a beautiful skincare studio here in Vienna. The colours were new for me, soft pinks, peach, mauve, nothing like my usual earthy palette, and I loved being pushed there.

For the gold I reached for spray instead of pigment, on purpose. It lands more scattered, more flecked, almost like flakes, and that was exactly the effect I wanted here.

Then came the slow part. Three days drying by an open window, and I ran over every few minutes to lift a stray midge or fleck of dust out of the wet paint before it could set. I treat a drying painting like something I have to guard.

It hangs in the studio now. The collector hung it horizontally, which flips the whole thing and somehow still works. That's abstract painting for you.

Details
70 × 100 × 4.5 cm (27.6 × 39.4 × 1.8 in). Mixed media on canvas with acrylic gold spray, layered over weeks. The 4.5 cm edges are painted white for a clean, frameless look, and it was sold unframed. Hangs either way, portrait or landscape. Signed and varnished. Comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity, and the canvas is signed and labelled on the back. Sold.

Free worldwide shipping, fully insured. Each painting is packed by hand, and because I work between the studio and travel, it can take up to 8 weeks before a piece ships. I'll write to you personally when yours is on its way. Outside the EU, any customs duties or import fees are the buyer's responsibility.
