This one wasn't planned, and the result surprised me. It's the loudest, bravest thing I've made.

People see a flower and think they've read it. Pretty, delicate, easy to walk past. I know that look, it has been aimed at me my whole life, small and quiet in a room. But there is a lot going on under the surface, and Wildflower is all of it at once: wine, peach, black, white, and gold thrown wide open across the canvas.

Somewhere in the middle of every painting I'm sure I've ruined it. This one had a long middle. Then the gold went in and it finally made sense.

Nothing here is reproducible. That's the whole point.

100 × 70 × 2.5 cm (39.4 × 27.6 × 1.0 in), portrait. Mixed media on canvas: acrylic, structure paste, sand, and gold pigment, built up in layers. Framed in a black wood floating frame. Ready to hang. Signed and varnished. Austrian artist-grade paints and paste, archival and vegan, made to last without yellowing or fading. Comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity, and the canvas is signed and labelled on the back.

Free worldwide shipping, fully insured. Each painting is packed by hand, and because I work between the studio and travel, it can take up to 8 weeks before a piece ships. I'll write to you personally when yours is on its way. Outside the EU, any customs duties or import fees are the buyer's responsibility.
