This one has more going on in the surface than anything else I have made.

I worked the structure paste in several different ways on the same canvas. Dragged in some places, pressed flat in others, left rough where I wanted it to catch the light. Walk past it and it changes. A photograph gets about half of it.

Black and white carry the movement, with coral running through and a little green holding it back. The gold sits in the darkest passages, which is where it earns its place.

Painted flat on the floor, like all of them. With liquid paint there is no other way, it just runs off.

100 × 70 × 2.5 cm (39.4 × 27.6 × 1.0 in), landscape. Mixed media on canvas: acrylic, structure paste, and gold pigment, worked with several different techniques to build the surface. Framed in a black wood floating frame. Ready to hang. Signed and varnished. Austrian artist-grade paints and paste, archival and vegan, made to last without yellowing or fading. Comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity, and the canvas is signed and labelled on the back.
