This one is a river to me. It moves without doing anything. It doesn't push, it doesn't raise its voice. It's just there, fully present. That's life in a nutshell, I think.

A current of rosé, grey and gold runs diagonally across an open white field. Thick white ridges of structure paste catch the light like water moving over stone, and the gold (high-pigmented liquid gold, not powder) keeps the whole thing light instead of heavy. The white space around it does as much as the colour. It gives the river room to breathe.

It's a quiet painting. But quiet isn't the same as small. It has a presence you feel across a room. You have to be the kind of person who wants that in your home. Not something to match a wall. Something that's actually there with you.

Where the colour reaches the edge, I let it run right over, so those sides are part of the painting, not a frame around it. It hangs just as it is, unframed.

100 × 70 × 4.5 cm (39.4 × 27.6 × 1.8 in), landscape. Mixed media on canvas: acrylic, structure paste, Austrian limestone, and high-pigmented liquid gold, layered over weeks. Unframed, with the colour carried over the edges where the composition meets them. Ready to hang. Signed and varnished. Austrian artist-grade, vegan, archival materials. Comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity; the canvas is also signed and labelled on the back.
